NOTICE FROM RURAL LAKES REGION FEES FOR SERVICES Effective July 1st, 2006

THE FOLLOWING FEES APPLY TO ALL RURAL LAKES REGION LEPP COUNTIES INCLUDING: CLAY, CLOUD, GEARY, MARSHALL, MORRIS & WASHINGTON

*Wastewater permits are required for all new construction or modifications to existing systems in all Rural Lakes Region Counties.

** Well permits are required for all new private water supply well drilling in all Rural Lakes Region Counties.

PRIVATE WASTEWATER PERMITS* (Septic systems/wastewater lagoons) $200.00 (New Construction)        $100.00 (Modification or repairs)

PRIVATE WATER WELL PERMITS** $50.00 (New water wells)

WATER TESTING - PRIVATE WELLS (All Counties)                                Bacteria and Nitrate (Both)                         $15.00                                Bacteria only or nitrate only (Single)          $  5.00

REAL ESTATE INSPECTIONS (All Counties) Septic system inspections is required for all real estate sells in unincorporated Geary county.  All other counties are by request only.         On-Site Wastewater System                 $150.00         Private water supply(Wells)                  $ 50.00 (Includes water screening through                                                                                         a KDHE certified water laboratory)(1)           Private Water  Supply (Well)                              $  15.00  (includes water screening through                                                                   the Rural Lakes Region water                                                                                        screening laboratory)(2)

Note 1: Bacteria and Nitrates only.  The $50 fee is a minimum cost for water analysis.  The cost may vary according to actual tests required and current laboratory fees. Note 2: Rural Lakes Region operates a public service water laboratory.  This laboratory is not certified by KDHE.  If there are any legal concerns about testing the well water, a KDHE certifed water laboratory should be used.
